Gomoku, or Five in a row, is traditionally played on a 19×19 sized board, but is often played with paper and
pen without the size limitation. It is not unusual that school kids play it during boring lectures.
The winner is the first player who gets a row of five marks horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.

The name Gomoku comes from the Japanese language, in which it is referred to as gomokunarabe. Go means five, moku is a counter word for pieces
and narabe means line-up.
